Repeated Coating of Split Casing Pump for Drinking Water

The pump owner was faced with the problem of erosion-corrosion inside the pump, causing pitted areas in the internal surface every two years. To solve this problem, Belzona's pump solution with rebuilding and coating was used.

Application Situation
The customer was using some market coatings that did not last for a year and was having their pumps repaired once a year. However, after the first application of Belzona in 2017, these pumps have been re-coated every 5 years as the customer found Belzona to be long lasting and therefore very cost-effective.
Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet CEP-01 and CEP-03.
For the surface preparation, the pump was blasted to achieve a minimum profile of 75 microns and Near White Metal. Pitting and damages were rebuilt using Belzona 1111, and then 2-coat system of Belzona 1341N was applied in accordance with the Instruction For Use.
